Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in Burton on Trent
My name is Chris Craddy and I have been a practising counsellor in Barton-under-Needwood, near Burton on Trent for over 10 years. I am currently in full-time independent practice as a counsellor / psychotherapist, counselling supervisor and trainer. My former career was in teaching. I have been accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (
BACP) since 1999, registered with the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors (
UKRC) and I am also a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (
BABCP), though have not chosen to pursue their accreditation. I work within the BACP Ethical Framework, and am subject to their Complaints Procedure. Currently counselling and psychotherapy are unregulated in the UK, and so accountability to a professional body is an essential safeguard for clients. BACP is arguably the major professional body for counselling in this country.
I have a wide range of experience with people from all walks of life, having counselled doctors and dentists (within an NHS Occupational Health scheme), local council employees, people with alcohol (and other drug) problems and members of the clergy. I also work for a number of Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs).
I work with both individuals and couples, either for an agreed number of sessions or on an open-ended basis.
I am experienced in helping clients who have experienced difficulties with :
Stress
Relationships
Panic Attacks
Anxiety
Abuse
Bereavement
Depression
Addiction
Self Esteem
Assertiveness.......and many other issues
My counselling practice is based just off the A38 trunk road, near Burton on Trent, within easy reach of Derby, Lichfield, Tamworth and North Birmingham.
